Here’s a quick summer writing prompt inspired by Langston Hughes (with an added hat tip to Gary Wright’s Dream Weaver because how many songs do you know that have “astral plane” in it?)
First, read Langston Hughes’ The Dream Keeper.
Now think of a job title with a little poetic fantasy to it. The Cat Whisperer, The Imagination Gardener, The Peace Guardian, The Idea Maker, etc., and write a short poem. Langston’s was only eight lines; you may go longer if you’d like. The point of view is up to you — speak as the Imagination Gardener, for example, or write as an observer.
